Zsófi Oatridge

Hungarian Relations

Together with her husband Andy and 3 children, Zsófi moved back to her homeland Hungary in 2013 having lived in the UK for 10 years. She enjoys teaming up with Andy in the ACORNCAMPS office and beyond, baking with the kids and going for countryside walks.

Andy Oatridge

Managing Director

Andy has a long-standing love for Hungary and youth work and together with Zsófi his wife co-founded ACORNCAMPS. An Anglican minister and Liverpool supporter, Andy loves having ideas, playing football, watching films and chilling out with his family.

Anna Poór

Mission Week Coordinator

Since volunteering on the first teenage camp in 2001, Anna has returned each year to Hungary, where she now lives and works for ACORNCAMPS. Her connections with the country strengthen as she learns the language, works to understand the culture and now has a Hungarian husband!

Krisztián Tóth

Hungarian Relations Support

Krisztián was first involved in ACORNCAMPS in 2010 when a camp was organised with his church in Vác. Previously an electrical engineer, he is now studying to be a pastor in the Baptist church. Krisztián works part-time with ACORNCAMPS to develop the Hungarian relations, and in his free time enjoys spending time with his wife and two young sons.

Szilárd Tam

Short Term Mission Partner

Szilárd moved back to Hungary in 2020, after spending 6 years in London, where he found his passion for youth work. He now works with ACORNCAMPS as a Short Term Mission Partner. Szilárd enjoys sports, languages, exploring nature, and deep conversations.

Jane Dennis

UK Finance Administrator

With her husband, Tim, Jane became connected to ACORNCAMPS through friendship with the Oatridge family. Jane has been on a camp in Hungary, and now enjoys serving the work behind the scenes by dealing with all the finances of the charity. Jane currently lives in Basingstoke with their 4 kids to keep her busy at home!

Carl Brooks-Plunkett

Child and Youth Protection Coordinator

Carl arrived on his first ACORNCAMP in the summer of 2014 and quickly fell in love with all things Hungarian, especially the food. He currently works for a church in Sheffield as a Youth and Families Minister and previously worked as a paediatric nurse. He is passionate about the protection of Children and young people and longs to see them come to know God as their Heavenly Father. In his free time he enjoys walking, baking and dancing (both watching and doing).

Bori Mikola

Youth Leader Trainer

Bori is a Reformed pastor working at the Budapest-Külső-Kelenföld Church. She met Andy and the ACORNCAMPS team in 2006 whilst serving at her previous church and organised several camps together. Our paths crossed again through the Langham Preaching movement and now Bori is involved in helping to train youth leaders.

Stephen Cartledge

UK Church Relations Coordinator

Stephen became involved in ACORNCAMPS in 2002. He has been a team member and camp leader on numerous occasions over the years. He served as a trustee until 2017 and works as a primary school teacher in his home town. Stephen is engaged in youth work at his local church and enjoys fishing, watching sport (especially rugby) and spending time with his family in his spare time.

David Todd


David has been involved with ACORNCAMPS since before he went bald. He’s helped lead on camps and been involved with training. He now supports the work as one of the Trustees but still looks forward to visiting Hungary and the Camps when he can. David lives in Cambridge with his family and dog. He is an ordained minister in the Church of England.

Tim Dennis


Tim has been involved with ACORNCAMPS since before it was ACORNCAMPS!  For many years he ran the finances and has served as a Trustee of the charity since it was formed.  He is married to Jane with four children and is an Ordinand within the Church of England.

Ken Oatridge


Ken first volunteered with childrens’ Scripture Union camps in Hungary in 1999. Since then Ken has taught and led on children’s and teenagers camps during repeated visits to the country with his wife Gwyn. Now a retired teacher, father (incl. of Andy, above) and grandfather, Ken continues to be involved with behind-the-scenes work of ACORNCAMPS.

Dr Phil Harper


Phil lives in Sheffield in the UK and is husband to Janelle and dad to Luke and Yasmin. He is part of a new church plant helping to lead a team working with international students. He is is founder and CEO of technology company Tribosonics Ltd and enjoys running in his spare time.

Claire Wroe


Claire is married to Gareth and is mum to 5 children aged 23 down to 15. She and Gareth ran some youth leader training at Vác Baptist church, Claire then led the camp there in 2017, before becoming a trustee.

Matthew Price


Matthew, currently a Church of England minister in Norfolk, has worked as a solicitor in London, in Uganda coordinating a Christian legal aid project, and for the UK Lawyers’ Christian Fellowship. Matthew became involved with ACORNCAMPS through his wife Anna and friendship with the Oatridges, and he loves camping with his family, and he recently run the London Marathon!
